Mommy Thumb Condition - have you experienced this or heard of it?

both my thumbs started hurting when i was 8 months pregnant. baby is 4 months now, and at times it hurts all the way to the forearm. i have lost movement and strength in both hands... still, my family doctor doesn't think there is anything too wrong with me. i have practically begged him for a cortisone shot, to no avail...
