Alla rakha Rahman, the man who redefined the contemporary Indian music & is the pride of the entire nation and an idol for millions all over the world needs no preamble. The year was 1991. Ace director Maniratnam was on the look out for a new composer for his films. One day, at a award function for excellence in advertisement tunes,Rahman got the award for Leo coffee advertisement tune.mani asked Rahman to reveal his tunes, and Rahman invited him to his studio. But, mani went to his studio after six months,Rahman played a tune and without the second thought, he booked Rahman for his film. He got only 25,000 for that film. The movie is Roja and the tune is Tamizha tamizha and rest is HISTORY. At the age of four, master sudarshanam played a harmonium and covered the keys with cloth, the little genius played the tunes without any effort. At age of nine, Rahman lost his father and so for his family income, he joined in illayaraja troop as a keyboard player.he also worked with zaheer hussain,M.S.V, Kuddivaidyanathan.so, Rahman studied only up to 11th grade.he had completed his musical degree in trinity college of music in London.Rahman is the first indian music director who got national award in his first film itself and still he is the one. Rahman got four national awards,one academy award, golden globe,state awards,17 filmfare awards,etc,etc... Bombay, kadhalan,dilsey are recording breaking history sales in indian music world.dilsey itself sold more than 6 millions cettes.He sold over one hundred million Cd's world wide and more than two hundred million cettes. HE IS THE TOP 25 in ALL TIME SELLING RECORDING ARTISTS IN WORLD.In famous Time magazine, He is called as Mozart of Madras and his roja is all time every green album in top ten list.his tunes like chaiyya chaiyya was used in english movie instant man,bombay theme music was used in Lord of the rings.He also the music director for the stage show of lord of the rings.he did a stage show with MJ too.Rahman started the music college called KM music conservatory in chennai and world level musicians are working in that college.every year he is donating the seats to thirty corporation school students at free of cost. From this year onwards, he is going to increase the number of free seats.HIS AIM IS PROMOTE THE INDIAN MUSIC TO INTERNATIONAL LEVEL BY THIS COLLEGE. Happy birthday to Rahman!
