Is it effeminate for guys to shave their armpits?

I ask this because I frequently wear sleeveless shirts when I go to the gym. I feel kind of awkward doing the military press since my armpit hair shows, but I'm worried that it could be equally awkward to have no armpit hair. I know shaving your chest is in vogue now for guys but what about armpits?
