Radiation from Granite Worktops/Counters?

I know granite can emit harmful radiation and i was wondering if there was any risk from installing granite worktops in my kitchen. I will be next to them for 3 - 4 hours a day and don't want to take any unnecessary risks, does anybody know if there are? or is it perfectly safe?
