Why dont people know who Boney James or Dave Koz is?

I play saxophone ( not in a school band) and these guys ae my idols. Whenever they are mentioned though nobody ever knows who they are. They are outstanding saxophonist. I play alto tenor and soprano. Arent saxophonist cool anymore? It takes alot of skill and hard work to do what we do. Why arent they recognized?
