PLEASE HELP disappointed w/ pain management doc ?

I have really no one to talk to about this matter.see my pain management doc (i have only been going 2 mths) wants me off all narcotics he put me on baclofin and clexia (an antidepressant) i wouldn't care but the pain meds (VIcodin ) work really well and reduces my pain to a point that i can at least live a LITTLE .he said it will loose effectiveness and cause MORE PAIN IN THE LONG RUN .how will i control my pain ? I have some left and am suffering and trying not to take them because there will be no more.I have heard of people being on them for years. is it my age I'm 27 or what i feel "cheated to have an effective med taken away when it helps me . ANY ADVICE ? i have chronic low back and pelvic pain from multiple stones scar tissue on ureter slipped disk accident i am not a candidate for surgery thanks
